Dahnen Murdanaigum

Massage Therapist

Qualifications and registration

Dahnen Murdanaigum is a Massage Therapist with more than fifteen years of experience. He offers a full range of massage techniques and is also a certified functional movement specialist, with a real talent for identifying the root causes of pain rather than just easing the symptoms. Warm and thoroughly curious about the human body, he brings genuine interest to every appointment.

There is a self-confessed geek behind Dahnen's approach to massage therapy. His fascination with how the human body works has been there from the start, long before he trained as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist at the Essentials for Health School of Massage in London in 2009. That curiosity has only deepened over the years, taking him into functional movement specialism, dry needling, a career as a tennis coach, a stint teaching massage, and a degree in psychology along the way. He has been part of the BTC team for most of his career, and all of it feeds into what he does in the treatment room now.

Dahnen's approach shifts depending on what a patient needs. Sports or deep tissue massage is often his first move for muscle tension and tightness. But where there is faulty movement, restricted mobility, or pain that keeps returning, he tends to combine more targeted manual therapy with corrective exercise, drawing on his functional movement training to get to the root of what is actually driving the problem. He has a particular soft spot for those moments when the smallest nudge, a new movement or a shift in habit, turns out to be the thing that unlocks a recovery.

Outside the clinic, Dahnen is a keen tennis player who loves live music, outdoor festivals, and dancing, though he will tell you the last two happen less often than they used to. He also speaks a little French.

An extreme close-up view focusing on a man's face and head as he receives a cranial-sacral treatment. His eyes are closed, and his expression is serene. A practitioner’s hands are gently placed, with the fingers and thumbs together, across his forehead and temple area. The patient rests on a textured towel, and the scene is brightly lit, highlighting the details of his skin and curly hair.
