Chartered Clinical Psychologist/Registered with the Health Professions Council.
Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind: how we think, act and interact individually and in groups. Psychology is concerned with all aspects of behavior e.g thoughts, feelings and motivations underlying such behavior.
Clinical psychology is that branch of psychology with the purpose of understanding, preventing and relieving psychology distress and to promote well-being and personal development. There is increasing recognition that mental health has an impact on physical health , and that psychological insight can improve our personal and professional relationships and activities.
Psychological interventions (short and long term) will range from gaining greater understanding of the motivation underlying one's thoughts and feelings, e.g Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to focusing on making changes in how one thinks and acts, e.g Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT.
I have extensive experiments of working with different groups of clients, such as, teenagers, couples and use various techniques which differ in regards to the context and nature of the problem presented by the client, for example, stress, depression, relationship problems and addictions. I also provide supervision to other health professionals, e.g. students psychologists and consultations to teams, e.g. care homes, hospital wards.
Some clients choose to see me for different reasons, such as, panic attacks, stress, depression, anger or relationship problems. Others choose psychotherapy in order to understand oneself better and develop as a happier human being . Many clients come as a result of physical problems such as, weight issues allergies and sexual complaints.
